About Me

I've had a marvelous life and career.  I grew up on a farm just outside of Bennington, Nebraska.  I worked and put myself through college earning a Masters Degree in Biology.  During that period I met my best friend and partner; Linda and we were bested with two sons; John and David.  My career started as a seasonal employee with the National Park Service in Missouri and then to Lincoln's Home in Springfield, Ill.  From there we moved to Boulder City, NV were I work for the Bureau of Reclamation on the Colorado River.  I started in the Planning Division working on environmental documents and ended up as their Regional Limnologist working in 7 states.  I was promoted to Denver as a Research Fishery Biologist and was transferred to the National Biological Survey when it was formed and later to the U.S. Geological Survey.  I spent a great deal of my time in the field traveling throughout the Western 17 states.  The Colorado River, Lakes Powell, Mead, Mohave, Havasu became my home away from home.  I was truly blessed.  After 33 years of Government Service both Linda and I retired and moved to my Great Grandparent's home which we turned into a bed and breakfast.  We both enjoy meeting people and this was an ideal move.
